What is death? (Part 1)
What is death? Who is it? Where does it come from? Is it something we all fear? Is it guaranteed and then some? Wrapped up, the tie that binds, the ending of it all Only delaying what is inevitable no matter how long you stall From the very first tick on that little computer screen To the gasps of awe and tears of joy the first time they hear you scream Your first words, your first steps, I love you, mom and dad Makes one wonder woven in joy. Does it have to end so bad? You grow leaps and bounds shown by marks on a ruler Zoom through Pre-K all the way until you're a high schooler You meet new friends, hobbies too, and find love along the way You grow apart, get too busy, but find out that's okay You're an adult now son, you're in your 20s. These are your golden years But gold gives way to silver and gray, showing in the mirrors You find yours truly, bend a knee, and multiply a time or three What was once the beginning of a branch has become a family tree You work your hands, so tirelessly, in a land that God created You question your wit, your heart, your faith, find out a lot is exaggerated
