Stepping out of comfort A smile, wrapped in a warm blanket The safety of faces I've never met Letting me be seen while allowing me to see you Quietly I listen Laughs, smiles, wandering to what feels like it could only be a dream Drifting in and out, catching myself against the table Let's go, no anxieties, no insecurities Placing me firmly yet softly were I needed to be Again shifting me with safety, no needed words to ask for help Feeling drawn to touch, goosebumps Not guarding myself, releasing myself Breaking my brain through vulnerability and visibility Softly, firmly, quietly, loudly I see you and you see me Sitting on the sidewalk under the moon Listening to the words spoken and absorbing the emotion underneath I hear you and you hear me My brain says to be scared, my heart cannot stop Warning of if this keeps going, I'm going to fall A fall so hard reality has to shift Into a life of pure bliss Waiting patiently for all the next moments Time is no longer of the clock, it's of the heart
