What I Never Say Out Loud
Some days I watch the world drift close to you unaware, Not knowing how deeply I notice every detail you wear. And in the most selfish way possible, I hope no one admires you the way I do, Cause the thought of someone else seeing you like that cuts straight through. I try to act calm, pretend my heart isn’t shifting at your name, Pretend I don’t feel something sharp every time things aren’t the same. Maybe it’s wrong, maybe it’s just me wanting what I shouldn’t chase, But I can’t help wishing I was the one standing in that empty space.
