What Cannot Be Claimed
At last, my heart is comforted, and made whole for a moment. I was yours, and the world briefly stood still. We lingered, as though time itself had forgotten us. Nothing passed that was not freely given. It was tender, and full of affection. I am bound to him, too grievously to deny. I keep it, as one keeps what cannot be claimed. Not without hope, nor free of regret.
