what?
What is that? What is a star? Is it calling out, Calling from afar? Is it measured by this: The bright perfect shine Or is it really Many things combined. Does it want to sparkle, For each and ev'ry eye Or is it just like other people, Timid, shy? Does it want to be free, Free from the sky Or does it dread The very day it will die? And as that very day draws nigh, Does it curl up, Lonely, despairing. Does it cry? I hurt everyday I droop and fade away I am the star, Calling from afar. But no one hears, No one knows How cruel Life has Battered me so, If I told anyone, they'd think "She's putting on a show!" And let me tell you now, No, no, NO! I'M SAYING THIS NOW, AS I SCREAM AND SHAKE HOW WOULD YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I CAN TAKE!! SHUT UP, JUST SHUT UP! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! Or maybe you just don't know Who i really am. All you see is the shine, The sparkle in my smile, The cover up, facade, Heck, even I'm in denial. Truth is I'm not close to that bright perfect shine, I'm many broken things, Broken things combined. You don't see me pacing Or hear my heart racing Or dream my dreams, Or watch me tear at the seams.
