We're Not the Same
You see my body You hear my voice You disagree with my choice criticize my thoughts & tell me what I ought you think you know success yet you wear the same clothes as I dress My past is set My past can't change you believe me to be strange I can't pretend to be anything other than me I don't know how to act like you I honestly don't fucking want to What makes you better? What path didn't I take? What decision did you make? What life did you do, that makes me more ignorant than you? You're here alongside with me Neither of us are walking free If you ask me You've got half a brain since y'all wanna be the same Just cause everyone likes to pretend, don't mean I have to comply to fit in I don't care to fit in a society that doesn't accept me genuinely I'm not like you I can't even if I try Trust me, I've tried & I've cried I've yet to find my people, I've searched from the highest steeple So for now I'll keep warm my own bones cause regardless who I'm around, I'm forever alone
