We're not the Same
We may share the same blood But we're not the same Regardless if you're my mother And I'm your daughter. Though you gave me life Your words cut me like a knife Your love is wild and unkind While I search for peace to find Your anger towards me burns in shadows you cast. I yearn for a future where pain doesn't last, You see control in a world you shape I seek freedom, a chance to escape We'll never be the same in the way we feel, Your hurt is a shield, mine starts to heal, I found my own song in the echoes I screamed. In the dark of your past, I find where I belong Bound by the past, our paths are apart In space between us, I mend my own heart You made me worthless, Drawn images on my body, I can't erase. Those hands you use to eat with, Is the same hands you use to assault me That mouth you use to have converse with, Is the same mouth you use to mouth slaughter Hope you find peace in your violence But I won't stay to deal with your madness. The pain you've caused is unbearable. It's despairable The difference between you and I is, I'll make sure my kids will never recognize me, By the sound of my sound of my footsteps.
