Weight of Expectations
I am a patchwork of expectations- stitched together by the hands of those who look at me with hope, with belief, with something dangerously close go admiration. And what if I let them down? What if I slip, unravel, become nothing more than a sigh of regret in someone else's throat? I carry it in my bones this quiet fear!! I walk carefully, measuring my steps, as if one wrong move might send the whole fragile illusion shattering at my feet. I want to be more....to be worthy, to be the thing they see! But the weight of it sits heavy on my shoulder, pressing me silent. And yet, I keep going....... Not because I am fearless, but because stopping would mean facing the truth; that maybe I am only as good as the expectations I fail to meet.
