We Loved, We Left, We Returned
We were a couple, not a maybe, not a what if. Just two hearts learning love for the first time. We broke up, then found our way back— over and over again. Not because we stopped loving, but because we didn’t know how to stay. High school love was messy, full of pride, tears, and unsaid apologies. I never asked the question when I should have. I thought love would wait, that you would always come back. All we have now are memories we created in between the breaking and returning. And even now, it still takes me time to forget you— because loving you was real, even if we couldn’t make it last.
