War for peace
Oh how proudly I stood in my new coat and boots shone until each button and buckle glew For I was off to join the army, for my country they said for every person that walked with me they said for the men that stood next to me, for the people I didn't know for the future fought for today but who could prepare me for what I was to face fighting for harmony, killing men identical to myself for the useless excuse of justified murder noise for silence, the shooting of my gun and the firing of tanks for a fallen silent land, baren, and lifeless restriction for freedom, putting and keeping myself in line for the wary future of leisure or living to see another day war for peace, fighting for a reason bigger than you'll ever be
