WAR BENEATH MY SKIN
The biggest war I ever faced, Was in my mind no one could trace, I smiled while slowly falling apart, With shattered thoughts inside my heart. Each night I fought what I became, A soul consumed by fear and shame, The mirror showed a stranger’s eyes, Still begging pain to say goodbye. I carried wounds no one could see, Like chains wrapped tightly around me, And every breath felt cold and thin, Like losing hope beneath my skin. But even graves can birth a flame, And broken souls still speak their name, So from the dark where I was torn, I crawled through hell… and was reborn.
