Walk Upon new Lands
Sometimes we stop thinking about them, but not really, they are just at the back of the mind, out of reach, but ever present. We busy ourselves with tasks, jobs and hobbies, that way we do not have to travel down the foggy ruins of time, as Dylan so adequately puts it. This is our defence, its like an inbuilt mechanism to limit the damage, caused by searing loss and pain. But then guilt comes knocking at our door, because we should not be moving on, coping or even enjoying our lives, or well this is what we tell ourselves at least. But in reality they would not have us sat, like a stagnant pond, trying to punish ourselves, and think only about what we have lost. Because its this defence mechanism that will bring us to the wonderful light, in which there is peace, and we then can truly bask in the memories of what was, and not be in the shadows with guilt, loss and loneliness. We must walk upon new lands, tread where we have not trodden before, and yes, we must love again!
