WALK OF LIFE
WALK OF LIFE Drowsy a.ms We stayed awake Counting spiders up in the ceiling Amazed at the sturborn creatures Lingering uneasy in our abode. On the side wall we hung our clothes Clothes-or resemblances For they were no clothes at all; Overused wears carrying mercy upon us The stomach rarely complained For it would get ashamed to do so- Hastily we would laugh at it that night Tomorrow is just another day. The coach man, time drove on... We skipped tires and danced in quarrelsome machines To a place so distant, looking back. Many said bye, our eyes onion-pissed They were many.... And so we left them behind In the brightest hour we thought How time flies, smoothening whilst dumping aside We escaped the bush, and in aggrandized hope we still trek Acquaintances we keep making daily The sweet cakes we try to avoid, whilst feeling the aroma as well So this is how it feels Living while leaving walking and talking We live, we love and die Absolute journey at the mercy of time J.b Wepukhulu Uganda
