waiting for beloved one
I wait for you like a mother bird, Watching her young yet to emerge, Held within the shell so tight, Longing to see the world’s first light. The days we shared, now far away, Yet in my heart, they always stay. Back then, I never truly knew, The depth of love I had for you. But time has placed between our souls, A space that silence now controls. Still, I stand and wait alone, For days that once were, but are now gone. Though memories call, they do not return, And yet, for you, my heart will yearn.
