Voices inside Me
I am torn asunder by the dichotomy within, O Lord, as two conflicting voices clamor for my attention: one strident and insistent, fueling the passions of my flesh, and the other, a gentle whisper, beckoning me towards righteousness. All too often, I succumb to the clamour of the former, neglecting the subtle promptings of Your Spirit, and subsequently reap the bitter harvest of regret. I implore You, grant me the discernment to distinguish Your still, small voice amidst the din of competing whispers, that I may attune my heart to Your gentle persuasions, and yield to Your guidance, that I may walk in the path of wisdom and live.
