Voices
There's a voice in my head, it's sad and it's blue, It whispers to me, "You're not good enough, it's true." It tells me I'm worthless, that I'll never succeed, And it's hard to ignore, it's hard to be freed. It's like a dark cloud that follows me around, And it's hard to shake, even when I'm not feeling down. It's always there, lurking in the back of my mind, And it's hard to escape, it's hard to leave behind. But I know that voice is not me, it's not my true self, It's just a part of me that needs some help. It's like a wounded bird that needs to be healed, And with love and kindness, it can be revealed. So I take a deep breath, and I listen to my heart, And I try to be kind to myself, right from the start. I remind myself of all the good things I've done, And I focus on the positive, instead of the one. The voice may be sad, but I am not, I am strong and brave, and I've fought a lot. I've overcome challenges, and I've grown so much, And I'm proud of myself, for staying in touch. With my true self, my heart and my soul, And I know that's what makes me whole. So I'll keep listening to that sad voice, And I'll show it love, and I'll make a choice. To be kind to myself, and to love who I am, And to let go of the
