Venom
My aching jaws gnash, snap, and bite the hand that feeds. Inside, I hide, cower, and deny your well-meant deeds. How often I am appraised as "good" by those who are blind to my wrath and pain. Try as I might to enlighten them, my efforts are in vain. They can not, will not, must not see the hatred, the anger, the vitriol, and the venom. I was my first victim. And I am my own worst enemy. For every day not spent fighting myself is a day spent with my teeth in someone else. I give love freely and without care, for love in this world is in short supply. But love and hate are two halves of a whole, and my blood has much to share. So I do not hate myself because I feel worthless, I hate myself because I must hate, and I can not allow myself to hate someone else. I choke and drink down my own venom, lest someone else venture too close and feel the sting of my fangs.
