"Veiled Shadows of Tennessee"
In Tennessee's fair, golden land, Where fields of green and rivers stand, 'Neath skies so vast, with stars so bright, We shared our dreams in soft moonlight. Oft did we wander, hand in hand, Through meadows wide, and forests grand, With whispered words and tender grace, Our hearts did beat in love's embrace. Yet shadows deep did mark our way, For fate, it had a cruel play, Thine eyes, once warm, grew cold and still, A love betrayed by silent will. Now echoes of our laughter fade, In valleys where the shadows played, A heart once full, now torn apart, By love's deceit, and broken heart. In Tennessee's fair, golden land, Where memories like ghosts do stand, I wander 'lone 'neath skies so wide, With sorrow's tear, and broken pride.
