veil of shadows
In the hollow of midnight, where dreams decay, I wander alone on a path of gray. Love, a phantom that whispered and lied, Left scars like stars that died in the sky. I've seen the edges where hope breaks down, Built castles of trust, only to drown. What good are promises, frail as breath? They drift like whispers to welcome death. No warmth to linger, no light to save, Just shadows that follow, silent and grave. I’ve carved my heart in stone-cold walls, Where even echoes refuse to call. If kindness was meant for others, not me, I’ll drift like ashes into the sea. Bound to shadows, I’ll fade away, Forgotten by dawn, swallowed by gray.
