Unwritten Still
Unwritten Still I started in silence, 2019’s chill, Thinking maybe touch could make me feel. So many hands, but none held me right, Just flickers of warmth lost in the night. I was young, but my soul felt older, Heavy with weight no one saw on my shoulder. I gave pieces away like love was a game, But none ever stayed, none asked for my name. They called it freedom, I called it numb, Each kiss a silence I couldn’t outrun. I wore my pride like armor and steel, But ached for something tender and real. Now, I want one. Just one to stay. To see through the noise, not walk away. To trace the scars and still choose me, To hold my heart where it’s meant to be. I’m not my past. I’m not regret. I’m the soul they haven’t met yet. Still learning to love, still learning to heal Still searching for something raw and real. — Jalilah Writes✍️🖤
