(untitled poem: 23 April 2025)
After an optometrist visit, my gut needed some quick refueling. Annoyed about my results, I wished for a meal worth eating. I looked around the court, but the stalls looked like a bore. Whether it's the usual, or just not my taste- a slight dissapointment, might've been my face. But then... something caught my eye. It's a stall, just like the rest. Just varying chicken accompanying rice, an odd pasta, and four drinks with ice. The prices listed were fair but fairly odd. They numbered in a seemingly erratic way. By itself, no bills could've paid in exact change. But with taxes after it, it's actually pretty sane. So I went and took a gander, without hope to be satisfied... But I did order the butter sauce chicken, iced Thai on the side. So I waited, paid, took, then sat. Ready to eat a meal at last. I held my fork, pierced the poultry. Then sent it to my mouth, I was so hungry. As it touched my tongue, I was astonished - so suddenly! The sauce, it felt so zesty! The meat, it felt so juicy! The rice, brought it all together - if ever so subtly!
