...
Like taking one long drag of smoke, It burns your throat but you don’t let go. You hold it in, despite the pain, Till lungs can’t take the smoky strain. You feel dizzy, you feel weak, Yet every time, it’s you who seeks The hurt that clings, the fire’s glow, In a dance you can’t outgrow. You’re trapped inside a smoky room, Where pain and love both find their bloom. But then you stop, you open wide The windows letting fresh air glide. And in that breath, so clear, so free, You find the strength to just be. No longer chained to ash and flame, You breathe again — no one to blame.
