1246 days ago, Ellipses lingered, your words fell slow, A pause that stretched, refusing to go. A storm brews in my mind, wild and low, Scattered thoughts that endlessly grow. Do I reach out, or let the silence show? Is this longing real, or a shadow I throw? Was it you I knew, or a face I bestow, Buried by time, where memories flow? If he’s the one, why does my heart forego The strength to move on, to simply let go? If he’s my wish, why does my courage overthrow, Trembling at words I still long to bestow? Each fragment aches, a wound I can’t outgrow, A reminder of dreams that never did glow. If I reply, will the distance narrow, Or fade like echoes, soft and hollow?
