some days i forget what drowning felt like how heavy the silence was when my best friend became a ghost now the pills sit on my nightstand small and white and ordinary but they quiet the screaming just enough i still check her profile sometimes wonder if she thinks of me at all probably not but today i read a whole chapter remembered what i learned cried only once maybe thats what healing looks like not forgetting the hurt just learning to carry it lighter im still here some days thats the only victory i need
