Until When?
Until When? by Jack A.S. Dunce There's a bite of chill in the air since dawn as rustling of leaves on the ground creeps up. Until when will the last leaf hold on? Spring and the summer have both long been gone, while fall left with a half-full cup. There's a bite of chill in the air since dawn. Vast swathes are colored with a darker crayon as shades of gray come to envelop. Until when will the last leaf hold on? All the skies echo with the sun's deep yawn as he reins in his horses from their gallop. There's a bite of chill in the air since dawn. The passing days lapse into eon and this old tree has all but dried up. Until when will the last leaf hold on? As shadows lengthen for those time forgone, when the condemned has himself given up, and a bite of chill is in the air since dawn, until when will the last leaf hold on? ©️pgmr 11/09/2024
