untaught, but learning

Many will advise you to think outside the box, some will teach you how to. But when will we advise to love outside the box, and who will teach us how to? Few get lucky and find someone to teach them how to love in that way, most have to learn on their own. I was never told to love someone uniquely and much less explained what that meant, but life and its unpredictability has shaped me to comprehend how it's done. I love boundlessly in theory, as in I would know what I would have to do to keep my significant other always happy just by listening. I don't know if I'm like that in practice for I haven't been given the opportunity to put my remembrance of little details about what someone likes and dislikes into action. I feel as if I have too much love saved up from the lack of being able to share it which is why I write poems, to leak a bit out at a time.
