Untangled Strings
I don’t miss him, Not the face I once knew, But the warmth that quietly lingered, The unspoken comfort that I once drew. It wasn’t something defined or planned, Yet here I stand, with thoughts untold, Missing the moments that felt like gold. It’s not the sound of his voice I seek, the calm that came when things felt meek. It’s not the touch that stirs my mind, But the sense of peace I left behind. He chose the silence, and I agreed, A quiet parting, no need to plead. Still, the absence feels like something lost, Not really A quiet ache with no clear cost. I see him clearly, no blind adoration, No pedestal, no deep fixation. I miss what I shared, nothing more, A fleeting chapter, now shut the door. This isn’t an attachment, I know my heart, It’s the longing for comfort that tears me apart. Yet even in this, I find my ground, So let him go, and let me stay, Untangled, steady, finding my way. For what I miss isn’t what I need, And I’ll move forward, at my own quiet speed.
