Unspooling
Don't stop! The battle is almost won! As the leaves fall, grow, fall again I'll stay For I'm almost there, then I'll be done And I believe every word you say. I wait in my box and gather up the threads Shining so bright, splitting at the ends Patiently pulling apart the knots Unspooling while my heart stops. I glance up in silence, new moon again. Starlight reaches with invisible hands Ephemeral hands, I reach and feel nothing then Hypocrite; I smile at my dying strands. I'm almost there, it's over soon You promised that I would be saved I speak aloud to the newest new moon: I still believe every word you say.
