Unspoken Yearning
A special occasion, to finally be known, My heart aches, yearning to be shown, But lost and alone, in shadows I'm thrown. A simple greeting, a kind word, feels far from home. How can I endure, this life with you, so gray? I long to be known, to feel the light of day. To stay or to leave, which path should I obey? My heart weeps, questioning if this is right, This emptiness, this dimming light, this endless night. To feel nothing at all? A small thing, yet it weighs so deep. Your simple greeting, a life I long to keep, Yet held at a distance, a promise I can't reap. Is this normal, to feel so unseen? Lost in the silence, a forgotten scene. I cry out loud, to drown the thoughts that sting, To be known, loved, to hear the joy they bring, Is this too much to ask, this simple, hopeful thing? My voice is lost, my spirit starts to fray, Should I surrender? Let it go? Or find my way? -J'ann 08/01/25
