Unspoken Words
In the quiet corners of my mind, Lies a world I wish you’d find. A place where shadows softly creep, And secrets in their silence keep. You see me as a fortress strong, But inside, echoes of what’s wrong. The world demands I never break, Yet beneath this calm, I quake. I’ve learned to wear this stoic face, To hide the fears I can’t erase. For men are told to stand alone, To bear the weight, to be the stone. Yet every stone can crack and wear, Underneath the burdens we bear. In silent nights, when all is still, I wrestle with the doubts that kill. It’s hard to voice these hidden wars, The battles fought behind closed doors. For strength is seen in silent guise, While pain remains in shadowed eyes. I ask you now to pause and see, The hidden struggles within me. Though I may seem strong and sure, Inside, there’s much I must endure. Not all is easy, not all is bright, There are battles waged in the dead of night. So when you think my path is clear, Remember there’s more than what appears. The flowers come too late for most, When life has turned into a ghost. A final gift, a silent plea, For all the things I’ll never be.
