UNSPOKEN WORDS
In the silence, they linger and stay Unspoken words, that never find their way To the surface, where they can be heard And the weight of them, is a burden to bear, They are the thoughts, that we cannot express The feelings that we hide, and the emotions we repress They are the words of love, that we cannot declare The feelings of longing, that we cannot share They are the words of sorrow, that we cannot express The emotions of heartache, that we cannot repress In the stillness of night, they echo through my mind A haunting reminder, of the words left behind But still we hold on, to the words that we cannot speak And the weight of them, is a burden that we seek To release and to free, from the chains that bind And to find the courage, to leave the unspoken words behind For in the silence, they can be deafening loud A constant reminder, of the words that we've avowed And when that day comes, and we finally find our voice We'll speak the words that we've been hiding, and make a heartfelt choice To let go of the fear, and the weight that we've bore And find the freedom, to speak our hearts, and be who we are, once more. -Precious Nkhata
