Unspoken Echoes
In the stillness of the night, I find my mind, Drifting to memories we left behind, A love once bright, now faded, lost, A dream we shared, but time it crossed. I met you once, a spark so bright, But life’s harsh winds dimmed that light, Now paths we walk are far apart, Yet something lingers deep in my heart. You belong to someone, as I do too, But why do these feelings keep breaking through? Time has passed, and life moves on, But in my chest, your memory’s never gone. The love we had, was never meant to be, But still, it haunts and follows me, I’ve built a life, a love that’s true, Yet pieces of you still slip through. I tell myself, "It’s in the past," But why does the echo seem to last? A fleeting moment, now long gone, Yet your presence lingers, ever strong. So I walk on, with love in hand, Leaving behind what once was planned, For memories are all I have to keep, And sometimes, they rise when I can't sleep.
