Unspoken
We bend and break from half formed thoughts Afraid to voice as though each syllable is a fragile thread They fill the air in crowded rooms They weave and tangle inside our head Each and every secret, cramped into our souls Confessions concealed and dissolved into our skin The way we smile above our untold truths Only to realize the burning wreck we are within Heavy meaning and sharp truth coiling tight Suffocating, then releasing from our lungs Cracking our ribs, flooding our throats As whole confessions die upon our tongue One day their weight shatter like glass and spill from our throats Free from the internal war Our drowning truths and hopes Our once silenced dreams All that is unspoken eventually break free
