Unspoken
In the space between words Where no one speaks And none utter a breath Lies the heart's truth What isn't know Is that every unspoken word And every muted smile Is the weight of ones love It is the thoughtfulness The fear of speaking recklessly and careless It is the desire to say the right things and don't know how to say them And wishing you said them anyways Gazing into the eyes Hoping to see the soul, hoping it looks back Hoping it notices you Because in the silence You notice new things, in the silence All you want to hear is a voice in the vastness Says I love you Again and once more Twice A third time The burden of the silence is heavy And terrifying And yet it's peaceful It's fulfilling And as one who has traveled the expanse between gentle whispers There is a lot of time lost in the silence
