In halls of learning, I reside Lodge life is my haven, where I hide Books and thoughts, my constant guide But then, a heartache, I could not hide A crush so strong, on a lodge mate dear I confessed my feelings, without fear But alas, his response, a gentle decline 'You're special, but just a friend of mine' I thought silence would cure my pain Stopped talking, to ease the strain But his voice outside my room, a sweet refrain My heart still yearns, for his loving touch again In this lodge, where we share our days I struggle to shake off love's sweet ways Though friendship is offered, with a gentle hand My heart craves more, in this secret land Perhaps someday, our paths will align And love will bloom, in this lodge of mine Until then, I'll hold on to this flame And cherish the hope, that love will bear his name Time may heal, but for now I'll stay Holding on to love, in a hopeful way For in the depths of my heart, a spark remains A love unrequited, but still sustains Though it may seem, like a losing game I'll hold on to love, and its sweet pain For in the end, it's love that makes us whole And maybe someday, he'll see my soul And though he may not, feel the same I will keep on loving and bear the pain
