unrequited love
A heart beats fast, a blush upon my cheek, When you are near, my words begin to leak. A silent symphony of longing, deep, For eyes that meet mine, yet never truly keep. Your laughter rings, a melody so bright, But in its tune, I hear a different light. A light that shines on someone else, I see, While I am left in shadows, silently. I watch you dance, a graceful, swirling dream, But in my heart, a bitter, lonely scream. For every touch, every whispered word you share, Is a reminder of the love I cannot bear. Yet still I hope, a flicker in the night, That maybe someday, you'll see my love's true light. But until then, I'll cherish every glance, And dream of a love that might, one day, have a chance.
