Unrequited Blue
The world has been colored in a haze of blue. The sky. The sun. The moon. The snow. The road. Their eyes. It's funny and kinda makes me wanna cry Because I think back to the times when my favorite color used to be green But as I grew, so did my views Blue became all that I could see, all that I desired. The color blue is one that many fine sad, it represents sensitivity but not despair It's also unrequited love Said to be one of the most painful things to experience Worst then losing a loved one, though I wouldn't know The reason being that the love you feel is never felt, never acknowledged, never returned But you can't just stop, and have not yet learn't to turn it off It can be buried temporarily, but it still burns your chest, still hurts And so I have grown custom to the pain of blue It became beautiful to me, a scar being made so gracefully A graceful dance of shame, blame and pain So until I learn to move on, to be at peace To accept defeat I will see through pain filled blue.
