Unreciprocated Love
He who loved, stood by the shore, Lingered on love, his heart ablaze. Eyes etched with anguish, grief, pain, Marked with a love that held no gain. He stood there, both day and night, A lost soul, yearning for delight. Seeking love's embrace, it seemed, In solitude he oft'dreamed. In stillness, he found solace deep, In the darkness, he learned to weep. A wounded spirit, burdened by scars, Longing for love's tender balm, from afar. Deserving of love, that much was clear, But love's embrace remained austere. Unrequited and cruelly withheld, A tale of love's longing, sadly compelled.
