Unread books....
Some books lie waiting, on my shelf so still Unread, untouched, their stories unfulfilled Afraid to open, afraid to know The tales within, that may stir or show Perhaps I'm waiting, for the perfect time Or fearing the emotions, that may entwine Happiness or sorrow, joy or despair The unknown outcome, that makes me pause and stare Or maybe I want, to keep them pristine Unread, untouched, like a treasured dream Safe from the world, safe from my sight A secret kept, till the end of night The pages remain, a mystery so grand A world within, that I've yet to stand The words await, like a whispered sigh A story unfolding, that I've yet to buy In this silence, I find a strange peace A comfort in knowing, the tale will release When the time is right, when I'm ready to face The emotions, the thoughts, the words in their place
