Unreachable Dreams
That’s what I have named everything I failed to make mine, Everything I could not claim, Everything that refused to belong to me. Unreachable dreams Now they live permanently within me, Appearing at every moment to remind me that I did not succeed. They take endless forms, People, lost souls, Objects of value or not. And you, too, became an unreachable dream... You became the one I should have known from the start Would be nothing more than a dream beyond my grasp. Illusions—the glances, the smiles... The signs were many, yet I was blind, Clinging to the hope that you wouldn’t remain just a dream out of reach. My unreachable dream, You torment my heart, refuse to leave my thoughts. And all that remains is a spark, a flame I will call hope, Fighting with all its might to keep burning, To help me remember... But I want to forget... To forget you, my unreachable dream, You, who will never know how I feel about you, How I wish I could feel for you...
