unpredictable love
If I sit alone, you sit with me, If my smile fades, you smile for me. When sleep pulls me down, you give me your shoulder, When I shut out the world, you press my hand to your heart. When I break for comfort, you hold me tight. Silence and loneliness are killing me, I crave to be alone, yet thorns and roses chase me. I try to quiet myself, But pain keeps echoing inside me. Fire and ocean battle within my thoughts, I am trapped inside a silent cell, My hand rises… searching for someone to hold. Time drifts beyond my lifetime, Hope slips through my fingers. I try to pull away, But you catch my hand And place it against your beating heart. My eyes burn red and heavy, My tears fade into vapor. Then light breaks in— A fragile sparkle, Born from your words. I see the sun and moon within your eyes, And finally… I understand what love is. I find myself again in your world, I rebuild my soul through your love. If I sit alone, you sit with me, If my smile fades, you smile for me. When I fall into sleep, you give me your shoulder, When I shut the world away, you open your heart. When I shatter… you hold me whole.
