Unplanted Doubt
My spark is fading, I hide away, A wall I build, where love can't stay. My anxious heart was left astray, My mind now wonders, am I okay? Asking myself, should I still stay, Or just embrace the pain's endless sway? I look back, what do I see? The same fourteen-year-old me. She used to shine, a firefly's gleam, Reminiscing skies, a childhood dream. Shaking back to cold reality, A world of lonely misery, Where safety's lost, and I'm not free. A lonely sky, where stars deny, I sit, and tears, like shadows, lie. I gave the love that he'd deserve, But reaped a doubt, I didn't conserve. A seed of doubt, I never sowed, Now haunts my brain, a heavy load. Like in a storm, I'm now alone, Upon a shore, of cold, hard stone.
