Unheard Soul
I woke up in silence, cold and wide, A world that spoke but left me blind. Good or wicked none could see, No one asked, no one heard I chased a shadow, tall and bright, A fleeting glow, my only light. Smiles were empty, love was thin, Yet only he felt real within. Then he vanished, lost in the haze, Left me trapped in hollow days. Hands that hurt, laughs that burned, Jealous hearts, their hatred churned. The warmth remained but turned to stone, A house of faces, not a home. I cried, I screamed, yet none could hear, My voice dissolved in hollow air. I endured, I learned to wait, Drifting silent toward my fate. A fleeting touch, a whispered lie, Glass was shattered in my eye. Did he know? Or did he feign? Did he bear this silent pain? If my heart ached, his would break, A sorrow none could dare to take. The world grew small, the air turned thin, Poisoned smiles, deceitful kin. Love decayed, the blood ran dry, A serpent watched with hollow eyes. Yet still, I stayed throughout the night, For the shadow that was once my light
