Unforgiven
In shadows cast by whispered lies, A wife stands strong, though her spirit sighs. Promises broken, trust betrayed, In a web of deceit, her heart has strayed. He spins his tales, so smooth, so sly, Manipulating truths, making her comply. She once believed his every word, But now his lies seem so absurd. His charm, his smile, a cunning guise, Disguising all the hurtful ties. He weaves his stories, night and day, Hoping to keep her fears at bay. She questions now, with growing doubt, The love she thought she knew about. Each tale he tells, a twisted thread, Binding her heart, filling with dread. No forgiveness found, her heart remains cold, For all the bad things, the stories he's told. She sees through the mask, the facade he wears, And in her silence, her strength declares. She remembers the love, the days of old, When his touch was warm, his words were gold. But now those memories fade to gray, As his deceit turns night to day. She stands alone, in quiet defiance, Refusing to bow to his reliance. Her heart, though scarred, remains her own, In the face of lies, she’s overthrown. No longer will she be his pawn, In his game of shadows, from dusk till dawn. She rises strong, from the ashes of trust, Leaving.
