under the roof of promises
I was waiting for you under the roof of your promises, Where hope cast its gentle, lingering kisses. I can't even begin to describe the longing I felt, As I waited, hoping you'd come back, my heart would melt. Days turned to weeks, and weeks turned to years, And still, I clung to the hope through my tears. Did you forget about me? Did you forget our love? Or were you just lost, guided by fate's push and shove? I held onto those memories, like a lifeline to the past, The laughter, the love, the moments that went by too fast. Those echoes kept me company in my solitude, As I waited, wondering if you'd ever come back for good. But as time went on, doubt started to creep in, And I couldn't help but wonder, will our reunion ever begin? Was I just a fool, waiting for something that'll never be? Or were you out there, somewhere, still thinking of me?
