Unconditional
If I confess my poverty's dark veil, A soul bereft of riches, would you still prevail? Would your love be a beacon in the night, Guiding me through life's tempests, shining bright? If material wealth is not my fate, Would you still choose to walk with me, to wait? Would your heart be a sanctuary of love, A refuge from the world's harsh judgment above? If I falter, if my words are laced with pain, Would you listen, would you hear my heart's refrain? If gifts are scarce, and dates are few, Would your love be a constant, shining through? If others whisper, "He's not worthy of you," Would you stand firm, or would your love flee too? Would you believe in me, in my potential and might, Or would you abandon me, lost in the dark of night? If I stumble, if my steps are slow, Would you forgive, would your love still grow? Would you be my rock, my guiding star, My safe haven, where I can be who I are? If the world points fingers, if they scorn and sneer, Would you stand by me, or would you fear? Would your love be a shield, a protective might, A love that's not conditional, but pure and bright? Would you love me, not for what I have, But for who I am, in all my imperfections and flaws? Would you love me.
