two lovers
Callussed hands stirred surrender, thumb so course but touch so tender Just for one night, hearts came together But deep down I knew He has mine forever Mingled breath stands between The gap my loving God made for me Yet still I stand, still seek to breathe in Disregarded cautionary Gifted kiss, softest lips Most gentle touch I've ever been graced with As if proverbs 4:23 didn't exist Bare, unveiled, even now reminisce. Embraced, yet I stand beneath The work of the heavens Sun moon and stars watch below At the speck of dust who will not go On a dazzling beach, a grain of sand Catches me for all that I am Fickle, broken, bound and damned What is mankind that you are mindful of them? It burnes within me: a mighty fire Does not faint, grow weary or tire The world is guilded, but His love is brighter For Him I'd set my soul among the Pyre Tangled in thorns, his bloodied sheep with Spirit willing, flesh so weak Wrestles and fights, torn apart For her lover has an unsaved heart Yet do you know It only seems dark Now my heart breaks, but soon so will dawn Dove returns, life in its mouth. The night shines like day.
