Turning A Blind Eye💔
It tore me in two, When he looked into my eyes And told me that he had "no clue" What was happening behind closed doors. I refused to believe that, For he looked after a daughter That has mental illnesses Because of what happened in the short time That she was around the Monster. He knew what it felt like to be unloved, Unappreciated, taken advantage of, Belittled, degraded, He was married to the Demon, Yet he had the audacity to lie to me Straight to my face. We never got the chance to get close, Him and I, And at the same time We knew we loved each other, At an arms length. Now this whole time I am asking myself why? Why didn't he put two and two together, Or even try to make an educated guess On what the Monster did to me After his absence, His abandonment. I don't think I can love him past what I do now, For he has given me no reason to Even respect the lie he so carelessly threw At my face. So here I am with a broken heart Trying to piece it all together by myself With no closure, no fresh perspectives No insights but my own, Just like the rest of the other reassembly sessions.
