I was given a tulip, sunny and yellow. While it cost little to nothing, the leaves grew to patch the shadowy void in my bones. And I don't think he'll ever know Just how much that meant to me. how significant a tiny plant could be, to a girl who believed her first flower would be on her tombstone. The girl who believes she will forever be alone, granted a sliver of hope.
