True Cost
With strength stained by vanity, they summon the storms, Shielded in opulence, oblivious to others' norms. In halls adorned with gold, they bask in grandeur's grace, As destitute souls cry out, trapped in a desolate place. With hearts bound by greed, they chase ephemeral desires, Leaving behind trails of shattered dreams and oppressed fires. In power's embrace, they find solace and unmeasured might, Ignoring the cries of the weak, blinded by a false light. With hands weighed down by riches, they build towering walls, Closing their eyes to suffering, as compassion slowly falls. In the quest for fortune's gains, their humanity is lost, Leaving hollow souls behind, the true cost.
